City of artists Gmünd

The artist town of Gmünd is only about 30 minutes away by car. “Year after year, the Kulturinitiative Gmünd presents a colorful palette of international and national art in the numerous exhibition venues of the historic old town: from April to December, media artists, painters, sculptors, photographers, nature and land art artists and designers deal with the city, its people and the surrounding region in the most diverse forms and expressions. In hardly any other region of Austria, far away from urban centers, contemporary art creation has created such a wide and recognized space as in the small artist town of Gmünd in Carinthia.”
